Executive Director

SATUCI is a non-profit, community-based organization that has provided substance use prevention and treatment to the residents of Marshall, Tama, Poweshiek and Hardin counties since 1980. SATUCI is seeking a full-time Executive Director to further its mission of treating people with compassion and respect as they address and overcome the challenges of addiction.

The Executive Director will be based in our Marshalltown office and is responsible to a Board of Directors. Responsibilities include guiding the direction of the agency, acting as a liaison between the Board of Directors and SATUCI staff, preparing periodic reports to funding sources and the Board of Directors, and development of a strategic plan. This position acts as the Risk Management and Corporate Compliance Officer, provides direct supervision and leadership/support to prevention, clinical, fiscal, and office coordinators/managers and provides direction and support for SATUCI’s IT department and other consultants. Additional responsibilities include staff selection and dismissal with adherence to agency policies and procedures, overall financial oversight including grants, contracts, investments, agency budget, and expenditures, compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and responsible for annual review of policies and procedures. Additionally, this position would seek funding opportunities and prepare grant applications in cooperation with other agency staff, act as the primary spokesperson for general program activity and services, participate in local and statewide organizational and governing bodies.

A Bachelor’s degree in business or health-related field and two years of experience in healthcare administration is required. Well qualified candidates will hold a Master’s degree in business or health-related field and five years of experience in healthcare administration.

Substance Abuse Counselor

SATUCI is seeking a full-time outpatient counselor who will be based in our Marshalltown office.  Responsibilities include assessments/referrals, individual, group counseling, and case management. Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one year providing direct mental health or substance abuse counseling required.  Master’s degree with LISW, LMHC, LMFT, LMSW or eligible for license preferred.   Spanish language skills a plus.  Supervision for professional licensure tracks available.
